How the levels work

Four steps, from first words to fluent reading

Every book is written to the vocabulary, sentence length and grammar of one CEFR level. Start where you are and climb.

  1. A1
    Beginner

    Your first novel. Present tense, everyday words, short chapters.

  2. A2
    Pre-intermediate

    Past tenses arrive. Longer scenes, more dialogue, a real plot.

  3. B1
    Intermediate

    Mysteries and twists. You read for the story, not the words.

  4. B2
    Upper-intermediate

    Rich, natural language. The step before reading anything.
